UX Challenges

The Informist App is a specialist news source catering to a niche audience that needs to access accurate & real-time financial news. The news is primarily related to equity, money & commodities. However, users will also receive news related to regulatory bodies such as RBI, SEBI, etc.

Our main challenge was to:

  • Create visual focus areas for fast-paced information and ensure information is glance-friendly for the user.
  • Maintain a minimal and clutter-free interface, while providing a high level of customization.
  • Strike the right balance between perception of complexity and interaction cost.
  • Simplify a complex a la carte subscription model for the niche needs of the user.
  • Deliver seamless experiences for mobile, desktop and responsive versions.

Our Solution

ZEUX's objective was to distinguish the Informist within the fiercely competitive financial market by crafting an engaging, user-focused onboarding and subscription journeys. Our aim was to create a seamless financial news platform, designed for trust and reliability.

Our solution focused on 4 UX design pillars

informist - Screens
More, the merrier

More, the merrier

It is essential for user consuming fast- paced news to be able to view as many headlines as possible at a time. We found the ideal number of headlines visible by a user at any given time.

Keep it intuitive

Keep it intuitive

The consistency behind the design ensures that the user requires a very low learning curve in order to get a hang of using the platform. From the mobile to the desktop versions, we have used a consistent design style throughout.

Hear me out

Hear me out

Day-traders tend to use 3- 4 screens to analyse fluctuating prices. An additional screen to use Informist would be nothing but overwhelming for the user. With the audio feature, users can now consume information without having to look at the screen.

Tailored subscription plans

Tailored subscription plans

Unlike other platforms with fixed subscription plans, Informist allows users to select news topics individually and pay only for what they choose.

This flexibility caters to a diverse range of users who prefer subscribing to fewer topics instead of paying for a comprehensive package.

Customisable. Trustworthy. A-la-carte.

Designing layouts for desktop screens

To maintain the same consistency of the ecosystem from mobile app to desktop, we also created desktop templates keeping in mind the scalability.

The Outcome

We achieved the right balance between complexity & clicks.

A "sweet spot” design that delivers an ideal interface for Informist users.
