UX Objectives

The UX objectives for the chemo management tool were rooted in addressing critical challenges within cancer treatment environments. The overarching goal was to alleviate the inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and usability issues inherent in the current handwritten note system used in government cancer hospitals.

The key deliverables of this project were to:

  • Design an intuitive and user-friendly mock-up for a chemotherapy module aimed at efficiently managing and tracking chemotherapy cycles.
  • Enhance the user experience during chemotherapy administration, with a commitment to improving efficiency, accuracy, and ease of use.
  • Create a framework document that contains guiding principles for building Treatment Management Systems spanning across medical specialisations.

Our Process

We conducted in-depth user research and testing focused on chemotherapy management. Our process included comprehensive interviews and observations involving senior & junior doctors and nurses to understand their workflows, challenges, and specific needs in managing chemotherapy.

The insights and feedback gathered from real users were incorporated into the final designs our desktop and mobile screens.

Our Solution

We designed a blue print for desktop and mobile screens for Chemo-therapy management. Our iterative process, validated by user testing ensured that the final product was user-friendly and effective in supporting the complex requirements of chemotherapy management.

By prioritising intuitive interfaces, we simplified complex workflows and enhanced the accessibility of patient data, ultimately reducing the risk of errors associated with manual data entry and retrieval.

KCDO - Screens

Designing layouts for mobile screens

We designed mobile screens for chemo-therapy management to facilitate ease of use and allow portability for bed-side updates.

Designing layouts for mobile screens

Creating & maintaining a design system

We provided a component library keeping scalability and adaptability in mind. These components were created with due consideration to colour significance and usability.

Design Framework

We crafted a HEALING framework to provide UX design guidelines for building ideal treatment management systems that could extend beyond oncology. The framework would serve as a checklist for the vendors of health tech products.

The HEALING framework elaborates upon principles of Human centered design, Efficiency, Accuracy, Life cycle support, Idiot-proofing, Navigation simplicity and Growth oriented approach
